Boosting team flow through collective efficacy beliefs: A multilevel study in real‐life organizational teams

Abstract Team flow is a positive team state that may augment performance and well‐being of members. Although gaining momentum, the topic collective in work context still largely unexplored little known about what factors foster it. In addition, research into this has so far been conducted predominantly outside real‐life organizational settings. study reported on paper, 386 respondents from 60 teams four public organizations different domains were included survey study. Results multilevel analysis showed that, at between‐group level within‐group level, goal commitment was positively associated with flow, efficacy beliefs served as mediator relationship between flow. Moreover, support found for positive, mediated association proximity moderating role challenge‐skills balance. Conclusions provide more insights complex mechanisms involved establishing within context, implications both researchers managers.
